CSR Conference Exhibitors Noble Purpose
The value of Noble Purpose does not rest solely in research. It rests in experience. Since 1991, the providers of Noble Purpose have facilitated discovery of extraordinary purpose with thousands of employees in organizations like AT&T, General Motors, NCR, Volkswagen of America, and the American Red Cross. Join us at the conference to find out how you can align your passion and vision in your life and in your work. Drop your card off and you will be contacted to explore a free one hour overview, “Revealing Meaning and Purpose in Your Life and Work” or get started by registering for the “Introduction to Noble Purpose” tele-course that guides you in a group or with your team to connect meaning and purpose to your work and in your life. One Brick
Our 'commitment-free volunteering' allows individuals to choose when they volunteer, rather than having to make commitments for a certain number of volunteer hours, or agree to be available every week at a specific time. At the same time, it enables One Brick to source volunteers for non-profits in need, ensuring the success of their programs. With operations in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Chicago and Washington DC, One Brick has brought volunteers to support over 500 organizations, and we add to that list with our events each month. The Community Outreach Program
Our all-volunteer staff typically works with small- to medium-sized agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area. The COP volunteer training teams are members of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), Golden Gate Chapter. These volunteers are seasoned professionals with backgrounds in human resources, instructional design, organization development, technical training, and education. The COP program provides an opportunity for our membership to support their community and provide targeted training to organizations we feel passionate to support and who would not typically have the resources to meet the needs of their internal staffs' development. Community Outreach Program - Passion with a Purpose iMantri – The Network and Platform for Mentoring and Coaching
iMantri’s structured mentoring process is facilitated by a framework and a set of tools for planning, interaction, feedback, rating etc. The users will have a choice to follow an unstructured and ad-hoc mentoring process. While the application allows for subject experts and professional mentors to offer their services, it is built to unlock the peer-to-peer mentoring potential. iMantri encapsulates the peer-to-peer paradigm of the emergent business social networking space and aims to foster mentoring connections between members who can be mentors and mentees at the same time. More than a listing of a mentoring classifieds, iMantri provides a framework for mentoring as well as tools to facilitate the process. Some of the innovative features of iMantri include:
iMantri is enrolling a select group of members as a part of pre-launch to seed the site with high quality mentors. If you are interested in participating in the next generation mentoring platform, please email mentors@imantri.com. To view the pre-launch site, please visit www.imantri.com Village Enterprise Fund
Village Enterprise Fund (www.villageef.org) fills a unique niche in the microfinance field, as it finances startups and agricultural ventures in rural East Africa. Typical VEF businesses include vegetable kiosks, roadside cafes, bicycle repair shops, animal husbandry, and small farms for cash crops. These entrepreneurs are largely ignored by traditional micro-lending organizations, since they are risk adverse and often cannot meet the repayment requirements of microfinance institutions. VEF therefore provides grants, not loans, of $100 or $150 to each business group of 5 individuals. Training and mentoring are provided by very talented, local village leaders, who live in these communities and best understand the needs of their neighbors and can offer critical advice and guidance on market conditions, group dynamics, and basic business skills. Women's Initiative
By assisting women-owned businesses throughout the San Francisco Bay Area at our three training sites, Women's Initiative directly contributes to the economic growth of communities. Our graduates have started and expanded over 1,600 businesses from photography studios to catering companies and mechanic shops. In 2006, 301 new jobs were created by our graduates. By targeting low-income women, focusing on the needs of traditionally underserved groups including minorities, immigrants, and welfare recipients, Women's Initiative brings new resources into local communities in a unique model. Over half of the Women's Initiative community participates in our classes offered in Spanish through our Alternativas para Latinas en Autosuficiencia (ALAS) program, which boasts culturally competent services and extensive networks that propel Latina entrepreneurs into business success. www.womensinitiative.org
